Asylum Application Support in the UK
A claim for asylum is decided under the 1951 Refugee Convention and the Immigration Rules, and rests on a well-founded fear of persecution on a protected ground. Our immigration solicitors prepare your claim carefully and sensitively, help you prepare for your Home Office interview, and represent you at the tribunal if your claim is refused — with direct solicitor access throughout.

Understanding the UK Asylum Process
Understanding each stage can reduce anxiety:
1. Claiming Asylum: you should claim as soon as possible. Delay can attract additional scrutiny of your account.
2. Screening: a short initial interview to establish basic details.
3. Substantive Interview: the detailed interview where you set out your full claim. Preparation is essential.
4. Decision: the Home Office decides the claim. Processing times are set by the Home Office and change regularly — check the current service standards on GOV.UK.
5. Appeal: if your claim is refused, you usually have a short period to appeal to the First-tier Tribunal under section 82 of the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002. The exact deadline is in your decision letter.
We help you understand your rights and options from the start.

Common Challenges in Asylum Claims
Timing of the Claim: not claiming immediately on arrival can complicate a case. We help explain delays credibly.
Language Barriers: we arrange interpreters so your account is properly understood.
Lack of Documentation: fleeing persecution often means leaving without documents. We build the case using alternative evidence.
Trauma: discussing past persecution can be difficult. We work sensitively with vulnerable clients and coordinate with medical professionals where appropriate.
Credibility: the Home Office assesses consistency closely. We help ensure your account is clear and well-evidenced.
Country Information: we use up-to-date country evidence and, where appropriate, expert reports to show the conditions relevant to your claim.
We cannot guarantee any particular outcome; every claim is decided on its own facts.
