Sponsor Licence Applications — Expert Business Immigration Support
A sponsor licence lets your business employ workers from overseas under the Immigration Rules and the Home Office's sponsor guidance. Our solicitors assess your HR systems, prepare the application and supporting evidence, and set you up for ongoing compliance — with direct solicitor access and fixed fees agreed in writing before any work begins.

UK Sponsor Licence Types We Handle
Worker Sponsor Licence: lets you employ skilled workers under the Skilled Worker route, as well as Senior or Specialist Worker (Global Business Mobility) and Minister of Religion routes.
Student Sponsor Licence: for education providers sponsoring international students. This route requires a comprehensive compliance and safeguarding framework.
Temporary Worker Sponsor Licence: for short-term categories including Creative Worker, Charity Worker and Religious Worker, suited to project-based or fixed-term recruitment.
All licence types require ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting to keep your licence in good standing. We can also help with related Skilled Worker visa applications once your licence is granted. Our fees are fixed and agreed in writing before any work begins; Home Office application fees are separate and set by the Home Office — check the current amounts at gov.uk.

Sponsor Licence Application Process Explained
Initial Assessment: We evaluate your business structure, HR systems and compliance readiness. Many applications run into difficulty here, because the Home Office expects robust recruitment and record-keeping systems to be in place before it grants a licence.
Documentation Preparation: Our solicitors compile your application and supporting evidence — organisational chart, HR policies, payroll evidence and premises documentation.
Submission and Tracking: We submit the application and respond promptly to any Home Office queries. Standard and priority processing times are set by the Home Office and change regularly — check the current service standards on GOV.UK.
Post-Approval Compliance Setup: Once granted, we help you set up your Sponsorship Management System (SMS) access and train your staff on their ongoing duties.
If your application is refused, we provide a detailed analysis of the reasons and prepare a strengthened reapplication where appropriate.
03
Ongoing Sponsor Licence Compliance Requirements
Compliance is not optional — a licence suspension or revocation affects your existing sponsored employees and your ability to recruit.
Reporting Duties: You must report certain changes within set time limits, including significant changes to a sponsored worker's employment. We provide compliance calendars and reminders.
Record Keeping: You must keep right-to-work documents, employment records and contact details as required by the sponsor guidance. Digital systems help with audit readiness.
Compliance Visits: The Home Office can carry out announced or unannounced compliance visits. We prepare your business with mock audits and documentation reviews.
Key Personnel Training: Your Authorising Officer, Key Contact and Level 1 Users need to understand certificate assignment and reporting through the SMS. We provide practical training.
Penalties for non-compliance range from action plans to suspension or revocation. Our compliance support is designed to prevent these problems.

Why a Sponsor Licence Matters for Your Business
Access to Skilled Workers: A licence lets you recruit from outside the UK where you cannot fill a role locally, provided the role and salary meet the Skilled Worker requirements.
Workforce Planning: Routes such as the Senior or Specialist Worker visa allow you to move established staff between overseas and UK offices.
Retention: Sponsored workers on a route that leads to settlement often stay longer, which can reduce turnover.
Cost Certainty: Our fixed-fee model means you know our charges up front. The minimum salary thresholds, Immigration Skills Charge and certificate-of-sponsorship fees are set by the Home Office and change regularly — check the current figures at gov.uk before budgeting.
Many clients combine a sponsor licence with wider business-immigration planning, and we can advise on the full picture.

How We Strengthen a Sponsor Licence Application
Every application is prepared by a qualified, SRA-regulated immigration solicitor — not a call centre or an unregulated adviser. In practice that means:
- Reviewing your HR systems and record-keeping against the sponsor guidance before you apply, and helping you close any gaps.
- Preparing the application and supporting evidence so it clearly demonstrates that your business is genuine, trading and able to meet its sponsor duties.
- Confirming the correct licence type and routes for your hiring plans.
- Setting you up for compliance from day one, so the licence is sustainable once granted.
We act for businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to established employers, and we will tell you honestly where your application needs more work before it is ready.
Past results do not guarantee any particular outcome; every application is decided by the Home Office on its own facts.
