British Citizenship Solicitors You Can Rely On
A British citizenship application is too important to leave to chance. Our specialist citizenship solicitors handle naturalisation and registration applications with thorough preparation of each case — and you speak directly to a qualified solicitor, not a call centre.
Worried about the residence requirements or whether your documents are right? We guide you through the whole process, from the initial eligibility assessment to the citizenship ceremony, on fixed fees agreed in writing before any work begins.
Past results do not guarantee any particular outcome; every application is decided by the Home Office on its own facts.
02
Are You Eligible for British Citizenship?
Before you apply, you must meet the requirements set out in the British Nationality Act 1981 and Schedule 1. We assess your eligibility across all routes:
Naturalisation (Section 6(1)):
- Usually 5 years' continuous lawful residence in the UK
- Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or settled status, normally held for at least 12 months before applying
- Pass the Life in the UK Test and meet the English language requirement
- Meet the good character requirement
- Intention to make the UK your permanent home
Naturalisation by Marriage (Section 6(2)): If you are married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen, you may qualify after 3 years' residence, and the 12-month settled-status wait does not apply in the same way. We handle these applications and the additional evidence they require.
Registration Routes:
- Children under 18 (including some children born in the UK)
- Other statutory registration routes, including certain stateless persons and people with a British-citizen parent
Unsure which route applies? Book a free assessment with our citizenship solicitors and we will recommend the right pathway.

British Citizenship Application Types We Handle
Our immigration solicitors handle all citizenship routes with the same careful attention to detail:
Naturalisation Applications (Form AN) For adults qualifying under Section 6(1) or 6(2). We make sure your continuous-residence calculations are correct and that the supporting evidence meets the current requirements.
Registration Applications (Form MN1) For children under 18, including those born in the UK to parents who later settled, and children of British citizens born abroad.
Other Registration Applications For specific statutory routes, including certain stateless persons and people with British heritage.
Renunciation and Resumption If you previously held British citizenship and wish to resume it, or need to renounce another nationality before applying.
Each route has different requirements. We make sure you use the correct form and meet every criterion before submission — see our indefinite leave to remain service for the settlement step that usually precedes citizenship.

What Documents Do I Need to Apply for British Citizenship?
Getting your documentation right matters: incomplete or incorrectly evidenced residence is a common cause of delay. Here is the kind of evidence we review against your route:
Essential Documents for All Applications:
- Valid passport and travel documents
- Biometric residence permit or digital status confirmation
- Life in the UK Test pass notification
- English language qualification (or evidence of exemption)
- Marriage or civil partnership certificate (for Section 6(2) applications)
Residence Evidence:
- Travel history with exact dates of absences
- P60s, council tax statements and tenancy or mortgage documents covering the qualifying period
- Utility bills and other evidence of presence in the UK
Good Character Evidence:
- Police certificates from any country lived in for 12 months or more, where required
- Court documents for any convictions, cautions or penalties
- Confirmation of tax compliance
Home Office application fees and the biometric fee are set by the Home Office and change regularly — check the current amounts at gov.uk. Our own fees are fixed and agreed in writing before any work begins.
We review every document before submission and often identify residence-calculation or good-character issues before they become a problem.

How We Strengthen a Citizenship Application
Every application is prepared by a qualified, SRA-regulated immigration solicitor — not a call centre or an unregulated adviser. In practice that means:
- Calculating your continuous-residence and absence figures precisely against Schedule 1, so the qualifying period is not miscounted.
- Identifying any good-character issues early and advising honestly on how they should be addressed or disclosed.
- Confirming which English-language evidence and Life in the UK Test result the Home Office accepts for your route.
- Flagging anything that needs resolving before submission rather than after a refusal.
We handle straightforward and complex cases, including previous refusals, gaps in residence and applications for children, and we will tell you honestly where a requirement is difficult to meet.
Past results do not guarantee any particular outcome; every application is decided by the Home Office on its own facts.
